Mary Unfairy

Mary Unfairy is on a quest. Her grandfather, Bramble the Wizard, disappeared when she was little and hasn’t been seen or heard of since. Armed with her magical satchel and a hand-drawn patchwork map, there is no place in the Realms of Faerie Mary won’t look for him.

Except for one place… the Dark Wood. A place she is utterly terrified of.

The Realms of Faerie, though, have a few surprises for her along the way. Between goblins, river wyrms, trolls, swamp monsters, singing rocks and talking trees, Mary has to make sure she survives long enough to even reach the Dark Wood.

Determined to find him, Mary must work up the courage to finally step into that forest if she has any hope of saving her grandfather, once and for all.

Complete at 57,000 words, MARY UNFAIRY AND THE QUEST FOR BRAMBLE is a whimsical, heartfelt Middle Grade contemporary fantasy. It combines the cozy charm and eccentric world-building of Jessica Townsend’s Nevermoor with the humour of the Wizards of Once series by Cressida Cowell
